HOW IT WORKS
The Initial Consultation usually lasts approximately 2 hours or so and takes place at the owner’s home on a one to one basis, this is by appointment only.
It is important that the animal has already been examined and referred by the Veterinary Surgeon to assess if there are any relevant medical conditions, which could have some bearing on the animal’s current behaviour.
The Consultation is a thorough assessment of the animal, taking into account its history, home environment, understand the difficulties being experienced by both the animal and owner, and discuss a practical behaviour modification action programme.
This may be reviewed on an ongoing basis, depending upon the nature of the problem/s, and follow-up consultations can be arranged. Some cases may only require the initial consultation, but more complex cases, usually concerning aggression, may require several meetings and maybe ongoing socialisation training sessions.
Initial Consultation costs include a written report outlining the discussion held with the owner, and highlighting what behaviour modification actions & recommendations need to be implemented. A copy of this report is also usually sent to the relevant Veterinary Surgeon.
Owners will be contacted by telephone for an update after all Consultations, which will also enable an assessment of any follow up consultations/ training session requirements.
